In 1980 a small group of monks came from the Benedictine Monastery of Erlach in Austria to Arizona in search of greater solitude. Our monastic day is centered around the Divine Office, Lectio Divina, monastic studies and manual labor. As in the early monastic tradition, and in the time of St. Benedict, we are a non-clerical monastic community, engaging in no outside apostolic work.
